This document provides an overview of social protection in Brazil, with emphasis on the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS). It presents the main nationwide initiatives and best practices adopted by governments at different levels (Federal, State, Municipal), highlighting how the country organizes its actions to combat poverty, ensure rights, and provide support to the most vulnerable populations.

The content includes details about 19 national social assistance actions, as well as examples of how these policies are adapted by local governments to meet the specific needs of their communities. The document also addresses the structure of SUAS, explaining how collaboration between federal, state, and municipal governments ensures the effectiveness of initiatives throughout Brazil.

Resulting from a partnership between ABC/MRE and UNICEF Brazil, this document can serve as a reference for other countries and reinforces Brazil's commitment to South-South cooperation by sharing experiences that can inspire the improvement of social protection systems.
