In 2012, the Government of Armenia and UNICEF engaged in a humanitarian cooperation effort in order to overcome the country’s state of nutritional emergency. This effort received the financial support of the Brazilian Government. With the intention of moving beyond an emergency response, in 2013 the Government of Armenia requested technical support from Brazil to develop a national nutrition programme focusing on early childhood development. The goal of the cooperation focused on developing a model programme for child nutrition.
