Description
No ano de 2018, a Solução simplificada de abastecimento de água - SALTA-z, inscrita no prêmio pelo prefeito de Abaetetuba (PA) ganhou o prêmio MuniCiência Ciclo 2017-2018, uma iniciativa da Confederação Nacional de Municípios e do Projeto UniverCidades. A parceria do projeto ocorre entre o a prefeitura da cidade por concessão da Funasa e aplica-se na comunidade ribeirinha de Maracapucu Caría. À época, a SALTA-z atendeu cerca de 500 residências na comunidade e está sendo expandida para 72 ilhas locais. Devido à Solução, os moradores por ela beneficiados, não manifestaram novos casos de doenças causadas pela água contaminada, como Diarreia, Hepatite A e Febre Tifoide.
A SALTA-z proporciona não apenas acesso à água de qualidade, mas também o
empoderamento e a conscientização das pessoas quanto às responsabilidades social e coletiva, mobilizando pessoas e compartilhando saberes, construindo compromissos e um ambiente saudável para toda a comunidade, formando líderes de si mesmos e cidadãos críticos para benefício do seu local de origem.

Implemented in collaboration with the municipal management of Abaetetuba-PA
The target audience includes communities without access to potable water. As a result, the initiative directly impacts children and adolescents, although it is not yet possible to specify exact numbers.
Data from 2022 indicate that the project reaches approximately 75,394 people in the municipality of Abaetetuba-PA.
In Abaetetuba-PA, the project was started in 2018, with the prospect of being systematically applied through public rural sanitation policies.
Establishment of a Technical Cooperation Agreement between the city hall and Funasa.
The SALTA-z project was presented based on the expression of interest by the municipality, through mobilization and training meetings (workshops).
In 2021, workshops were held to provide updates on monitoring SALTA-Z installed in the municipality of Abaetetuba-PA, with the aim of raising awareness among the new management and giving sustainability to the project
The workshops were coordinated by Funasa, in partnership with the Secretariat of the Environment (Semeia, acronym in Portuguese) and the Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture (Semagri, acronym in Portuguese). The audience for the workshops was the operators of units already installed in the municipality.
