Description
O Sistema de Informação da Vigilância da Qualidade da Água para Consumo Humano (Siságua) é um dos principais instrumentos do Programa Vigiágua, que visa auxiliar o gerenciamento de riscos à saúde associados à qualidade da água para consumo humano.
Os dados são inseridos ou enviados rotineiramente pelos profissionais do setor saúde municipais (Vigilância) e responsáveis pelos serviços de abastecimento de água (Controle), o Siságua gera relatórios com informações que possibilitam conhecer as características do abastecimento de água no país, tais como:
• Cobertura populacional por cada uma das formas de abastecimento de água nos municípios, nos estados e no Brasil;
• Relatório de amostras fora do padrão de potabilidade estabelecido na legislação vigente, para cada forma de abastecimento;
• Municípios que não possuem informação no sistema, entre outras.
• As referidas informações subsidiam a tomada de decisão do setor saúde em todas as esferas de gestão do SUS.

Siságua is operated by the municipal and state health secretariats and the Health Surveillance Secretariat.

Siságua stores information on alternative water supply systems and solutions for drinking water, as well as on the quality of water from each of the registered forms, inferred by service providers (control) and the health sector (surveillance).
Data entry is basically divided into three parts: i) Registration; ii) Control; and iii)
Surveillance.
The Registration module aims to store information on the physical and operational characteristics of the forms of water supply used by the population. The Control module aims to store information on water quality monitored by those responsible for the collective drinking water supply. Finally, the Surveillance module aims to store information on the sanitary inspections of the forms of water supply and on the quality monitored by the health sector.
The Registration, Control and Surveillance data collection forms and the necessary documents for integrating the water supply companies' systems with Siságua are available on Siságua´s page. And the manuals and teaching materials detailing the procedures for the operationalization of the system are included on the SISÁGUA home page.
The system is accessible through SISÁGUA´s website through user registration and login.
The system is the main instrument for monitoring and evaluating the indicators of the Vigiágua Program.
